Express Entry is an application management system used by Refugees, Immigration and Citizenship Canada (RICC) to manage and process the various applications that individuals submit for eligible workers through Canada’s three (3) federal economic immigration programs.

Express Entry Canada is very competitive, qualifying applicants are ranked. Top candidates are invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Some of the characteristics used to rank applicants are age, language skills, education, work experience, and other factors.

Eligible applicants can move to Canada with their family members and obtain permanent residency within a few months.

Methods of Application

1.) Check Your Eligibility

There are two (2) ways to know if you are eligible to participate in any of the Express Entry programs. One is by either visiting any immigration office near you or by answering some questions on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada official website.

2.) Get The Required Documents Ready

There are documents that are required while applying for the Canada Express Entry. Once the documents are ready, an Express Entry Profile where all your information will be submitted will be created for you.

Your points are based on the different pieces of information you provide on the express entry pool. For instance, someone with a 6-years job experience and a PhD degree will earn higher points than someone with a BS.C degree and little experience.

3.) Receive an Invitation to Apply

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts Express Entry draws on a regular basis, typically every two weeks.

If your score is above the benchmark, you will be invited to one of the candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residency through Express Entry.

You may not be invited to apply, it just means you are not eligible and your profile will expire after 12 months. However, you can always create a new profile if you wish to apply again.
