Desmond Oluwashola Elliot was born on February 4, 1974. His father is from the Yoruba region in Nigeria while his mother is from Ilah, in northern Oshimili, Delta State.

Desmond grew up in Jos and received his first elementary education at Air Force Primary School, Jos, before going to St. John College also in the same state.

After graduating from high school, Desmond Elliot got admission to study Economics at Lagos State University, where he graduated in 2003.
